Our USA-grown Pachira aquatica， also known as a Guiana chestnut tree， is an evergreen shrub. More commonly known as a “Chinese money tree” or just “money tree，” this tropical wetland species produces jade green， lance-shaped foliage， which typically consists of four to five individual leaflets. Some leaves may feature six or seven leaflets， which is considered a rare sign of good fortune according to some beliefs. This attractive plant is native to Central and South America and holds a uniquely fascinating history and legacy of symbolism. The money tree is associated with luck， prosperity， positive energy， and wealth， bearing a rich history of legendary tales from China and Taiwan. In addition to being a naturally beautiful addition to any type of indoor décor， a money tree does not require heavy maintenance. It thrives in indirect sunlight locations (preferably bright areas of the home) and should be kept shielded from spiking temperatures， whether hot or cold. Humidity should be maintained at a minimum of 50% and can be increased by regularly misting the foliage. When the top inch of soil is has had a chance to become dry to the touch， that's when you know it’s time for a watering. A money tree can be allowed to grow tall and large or kept small in Bonsai-tree form through pruning and maintenance. Each money tree ships fully rooted in a 2.5 inch grow pot with an approximate height of 11 inches. We take every precaution to package your plants for a successful arrival. Pachira trees are resilient， although more fragile leaves may experience minimal damage in-transit. Every so often a package will endure some stress， causing some soil or plants to come loose. Should soil disruption occur， simply put the loose soil back in the pot， dampen it， and make a hole to place the plant in. To stabilize the plant， gently push soil around the base.
