The Pink Cryptanthus USA-grown 'Earth Star' or 'Starfish Plant' is a terrestrial species of the Bromeliad family. This rosette, star-shaped houseplant originates from Eastern Brazil and loves humidity. Clinging to the ground surface like a fallen star, this species is low-growing and features serrated, triangular leaves with bright color. Striping runs through each leaf and contrasts the plant's dominant color. Endemic to Brazil, Cryptanthus plants live on rain forest floors and are accustomed to humidity. Unlike other Bromeliads, 'Earth Stars' are soil-growing and develop foliage close to the ground. These plants exist underneath forest canopies in a natural habitat, areas where sunlight is dispersed through vegetation. Easy to grow and maintain, it's a favorite, reliable houseplant for gardeners of any skill. Your pink 'Earth Star' Cryptanthus will arrive in a black, 3.5 inch container. At full maturity, it can reach 6 inches tall and 15 inches wide. Each of our Cryptanthus are hand-selected, so you may receive a plant that varies somewhat in appearance from our photos. We take every precaution to package your plants for a successful arrival. Cryptanthus are resilient, although more fragile varieties may experience minimal damage in-transit. Every so often a package will endure some stress, causing some soil or plants to come loose. Should soil disruption occur, simply put the loose soil back in the pot and dampen it. To stabilize the plant, gently push soil around the base.

  • Low maintenance live plant, great for every level of gardeners
  • Thrives in both sun and shade
  • Bright colors make for a decorative desk piece, or addition to your plant collection
