Kidrobot was founded on the idea of bringing art to life from all types of artistry across the globe. We are honored to partner once again with Arte Marakame and native artisans from the Zapotec region of the State of Oaxaca, in southern Mexico, for this very special offering. Kidrobot has partnered with Arte Marakame’s folk artisans in the past for other one-of-a-kind art pieces in treasured traditional styles.

Each one of these four 7" vinyl Munnys has been carefully handpainted by a skilled Alebrije artisan in the style of their traditional crafts, and each one is truly one-of-a-kind. Traditional alebrijes tell a story through symbolic animal imagery and are carved from the wood of the copal tree, which grows around the community of San Martín Tilcajete in Oaxaca. A single piece can take up to 15 months to complete. These four Munny pieces take that same level of detail and reverence for the art form and translate it to a modern platform, creating a fusion of past and present that will hold a treasured place in any collection.
