How to Care for your Bamboo Wind Chime

The bamboo is harvested only during the best time of year， and properly dried before the chimes are made to reduce the risk of cracks. When hung outside， these bamboo chimes offer a 3-4 year lifespan if cared for properly.

Follow these guidelines to get the most out of your wind chime:

• Keep out of direct sunlight. The shade provided from a porch overhang or shady tree offers the perfect amount of protection.
• Apply a coat of varnish every spring for added protection against sun and rain.
• Bring chimes in for the winter or during extreme rain and windstorms.
• Using a damp cloth， occasionally wipe down to prevent mold or pollen build-up.

Because bamboo is sensitive to humidity and sudden temperature changes， your bamboo wind chimes may develop hairline cracks when adapting to climate changes. This is a normal occurrence and they rarely develop into larger cracks. Hairline cracks will not affect the sound of your wind chime.
